Megan Davin

(she/her)

Hey there! My name is Megan. I grew up surrounded by the outdoors and nature, but did not realize the power it had on me until my 20s at the time I needed it most. Now after years working in the outdoor industry, practicing and always learning, in order to lead a more sustainable lifestyle, I want to prioritize and share that critical connection with nature to you as it continues to improve my life.

Megan is motivated by her desire to deeply connect with and learn from nature. Her dedication to pursuing as much time outside as possible is fueled by a need to understand, appreciate, and protect the places we play.

As a nature mindfulness/ forest bathing teacher, Megan aims to share the power of being present and aware with others to help them find purpose, appreciation for their environment, and a desire to protect wild places.

Megan is committed to a life outside full of responsible adventures. She aims to ride bikes, ski, garden, and run in the mountains for as long as she can. It’s about being out there, appreciating the stark contrast between human and environment, and understanding we are all connected and not so different after-all.

The wild idea of creating this space came as I was finishing up my Masters in Environmental Science back in 2015. I wanted to create a space to combine my journalism background, my love of working in the outdoor recreation worlds and my fresh knowledge through Environmental Science into one.

With over 10 years experience working and playing in the outdoor sphere, I have worked through the ranks with two main goals making sure people have the tools to feel confident in the outdoors and to educate people about the areas where they recreate.

In my spare time you can find me either chasing powder or shredding on my mountain bike, both while camping with my husband and dog.

The Mountain Outpost

At The Mountain Outpost, our mission is to help people see how they can move mindfully thought nature and connect to the natural environment, everyday. We specialize in creating a culture of people who love nature and want to learn, connect, and improve their everyday lives.

The Mountain Outpost aims to use Megan’s experiences to protect wild places, inspire and support more people to play outside, and to encourage others to live their best lives through movement, nutrition, and mindfulness.

It has always been a dream of Megan’s to open up a physical shop that is also a community space for people to come to gather, learn and hopefully be inspired. A place, where everyone is welcome. Welcome to my virtual representation of a brick + mortar community space. I have had this idea for the last 5 years and finally realized it just needed to happen online.

From outdoor curious to outdoor enthusiasts, there is always something to learn. The goal at The Mountain Outpost is to empower you with the tools, educational resources, and guidance you need to responsibly get outside and better understand how everything is connected. I want to feature outdoorists, artists, environmentalists, activists, healers, to come together sharing stories, creating and learning. I am a firm believer that you never stop learning. But I hope this helps give you some new knowledge. Someday I will have a physical space with movie nights, talks, education series presentations and more free resources for people to come and learn from. But for now, I have the internet and a goal to start connecting people together.

Get comfortable, pull up a cozy chair and enjoy.
